Benziger Chardonnay - Certified Sustainable

Benziger Family Winery Chardonnay 2010
Graton, California
Review: This is a lovely medium body Chardonnay. It comes from the cooler Carneros region of the Napa Valley, which allows the grapes to ripen slowly, developing flavors of ripe pears, lemons and white flowers. This wine also sees six months of oak ageing, resulting in a balanced, fruit forward style with just a touch of oak.

The Benziger Family Winery practices green farming and biodynamic techniques and meets the requirements for this wine to be labeled as a "certified sustainable" wine.

Food Pairing: This wine will go perfectly with a roast chicken. Since today was delightfully cool I don't mind running the oven. A nice chicken roasted with lemon and herbs is in my near future. Yummy.

Bottom Line: I enjoyed this Chard. Good fruit, not overwhelmingly oakey. Nice balance. I dig it .
