New Brew Thursday: Abita Strawberry Harvest Larger

Abita Brewing Company Strawberry Harvest Lager
Abita Springs, Louisiana

Review: This beer is brewed like a traditional lager and then finished with fresh Louisiana strawberry juice. The result is decidedly light and fruity!  You get the fruit up front, and then it just finishes nice and smooth.  There really isn't too much to say about this beer -- it's just super quaffable.

Abita has a special place in my heart after spending four years in New Orleans -- Go Green Wave! -- so I always keep an eye out for their brews. This one did not disappoint. I could see myself knocking one back one hot sultry Louisana eve...

Bottom Line: Similar to the Son of a Peach, this beer would be great at a barbecue on a hot day. Overall, though, I think I prefer the flavor profile of the Abita. It's just a touch smoother.
