Emile Beyer Pinot Gris Tradition

Emile Beyer Pinot Gris Tradition 2014
Alsace, France

Yesterday I went to a fantastic little Vietnamese restaurant in town that lets your bring your own wine. I scoured my cellar, thinking about the best pairing for a spicy savory bowl of Pho. The clear choice was this lovely Alsatian Pinot Gris!

Review: This beauty has intense aromas of lemon drops, honey suckle, and ripe golden apples. The palate is a bit off dry, with just enough sweetness to give the wine a soft, round texture. The flavor is pure lemon candy, with a hint of zippy pineapple. Lovely concentration, if not the most complex of Pinot Gris.

Food Pairing: The mouth coating texture and bit of sugar, make this a wonderful pair for a hot and spicy bowl of Pho!

Bottom Line: Great texture and flavor. Sure to be a crowd pleasing pick!
